Platform Modernization

Core Banking Platform Upgrade

Problem

A major online banking platform migration required rebuilding all custom peripheral systems to work with a new core banking engine — without disrupting live customer services for tens of thousands of active users.

Approach

Led end-to-end requirements documentation with the core banking vendor and full development of RTGS & ACH Online, Bill Pay, eStatements, and a new mobile banking middleware layer. Managed all technical delivery across workstreams.

Outcome

Successful migration with zero disruption to customer-facing services. All peripheral systems delivered on schedule, with the new architecture supporting ongoing digital capabilities.

Fraud Prevention

Real-Time Fraud Monitoring Platform

Problem

A leading Caribbean financial institution lacked a proactive system to detect and interrupt suspicious transactions before they completed. Fraud was identified after the fact, limiting recovery options.

Approach

Designed and built a real-time behavioural fraud monitoring platform from scratch — including transaction pattern analysis, configurable rule engines, and automated blocking capabilities. Platform was subsequently commercialized.

Outcome

Estimated 20–30% reduction in fraud exposure for adopting institutions. The platform is now licensed across multiple Caribbean financial institutions as a standalone product.

Security & Compliance

PCI DSS Certification Programme

Problem

A financial institution needed to achieve PCI DSS certification across all customer-facing web and mobile applications — a complex, multi-system undertaking with no precedent in the region.

Approach

Led the bulk of the development work required to bring customer-facing applications into PCI DSS compliance — encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, audit logging, secure coding standards, and penetration testing remediation.

Outcome

The institution became one of the first financial institution in the English-speaking Caribbean to achieve PCI DSS certification — a landmark for the region's financial services sector.

Regulatory Compliance

Corporate KYC Self-Service Portal

Problem

A leading Caribbean financial institution held incomplete data on its corporate customers, creating significant regulatory exposure under AML/KYC obligations. Manual collection processes were slow and inconsistent.

Approach

Built a secure self-serve portal within the corporate banking environment, enabling business customers to view and update their organisational data — directors, beneficial owners, authorised signatories, and vendors — with full audit trails.

Outcome

Closed a material KYC compliance gap across the corporate banking portfolio, reducing regulatory exposure and improving data quality across business accounts.

Digital Banking

Corporate Liquidity Management System

Problem

Corporate banking customers had no way to monitor and manage their cash positions and short-term liquidity obligations in real time. Treasury operations relied on manual reporting and phone-based updates.

Approach

Led development of new cash management features with full API integration between the institution's online banking platform and the LMS vendor's system. Designed the data model, API contracts, and UI layer.

Outcome

Gave corporate clients real-time visibility and control over liquidity positions — significantly reducing manual treasury processes and improving decision-making speed.

Rapid Delivery

Branch Visit Scheduling Portal

Problem

Pandemic restrictions required a Caribbean financial institution to control branch capacity and manage customer visits safely — with no existing system to handle scheduling or queue management.

Approach

Rapidly designed and delivered a customer-facing appointment scheduling portal, integrated with the institution's in-branch check-in infrastructure. Completed from scoping to production deployment within weeks.

Outcome

Enabled the institution to safely serve customers throughout pandemic restrictions. The portal handled thousands of branch appointments and became a permanent part of the digital service offering.
